Bio

Richert Wang is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and the College of Creative Studies at UC Santa Barbara.  He earned his Ph.D. in 2011 at UC Irvine where his research focused on networked and distributed systems and he served as a lecturer in computer science.

He held internships at Orange Labs and Google, and worked as a software engineer for Amazon before focusing his career on computer science education. He has taught courses in computer science (including the programming languages Java, C/C++, and Python) and several video game courses including game design, multiplayer game systems, sound design for video games, and capstone for video games.

At UC Santa Barbara, Richert serves as faculty advisor for the Game Development Club, an interdisciplinary group of students in a wide range of majors who are interested in creating games.
